(POLAR)OIDS

(POLAR)OIDS is a series of digital collages made from pre existing polaroid images taken from Azab’s personal archive of photographs. Originally these Polaroid images had shown objects, surfaces and places from the artists day to day experience, further fragmented to form expressions of the artists imagination.

Azab operates on images within their own materiality by slicing, tearing and lifting layers of the polaroid, drawing attention to the unseen process of transformation of memory through photographic intervention. Through the artists process, damaged fragments of the Polaroids are digitally layered ,copied and replaced by post production whereby the original becomes lost in transaction.

Significantly (POLAR)OIDS discusses the movement, exchange and removal of information between physical reality and subconscious memory forming new, reimagined and recycled representations of the object, time and space.
